Flowers

For years I have made fun of my friends that photograph flowers. Something about that has backfired.

Alcy bought a bunch of white lilies a few days before we went to the rookery. She had them several days before I shot this photograph in her living room.

We met today mostly to wash all the sand out of her car from the trip to the beach. Three of the lilies were still left so I sit them in front of the sliding doors with the blinds shadowing all but one of the blossoms. We moved them around and then Alcy hung a white cloth over the crossbar on the sliding door so that we could use the daylight for backlighting. She got several shots that were exceptionally good and I got a couple I won't throw out.
