Janet slept in this morning so I had to run in this cheap sub. I am having a ball with the Samsung. It is amazingly sharp and handles high contrast situations as well as the Nikon. I almost never post a straight out of the camera, but these have amazingly little post work—a little darkening in the corners and my usual pull down on the high end of the contrast.
My new toy a Samsung HZ15W, 12.2mp point and shoot.
Jealous of the new toy. I'm still asking Santa for an upgrade of my D-50.

Jan, thank you. You want to go up and I want to down--well I went down. The Samsung was a twentieth the price of the Nikon. I coveted a Lumix with a Leica lens but I wouldn't justify the price because Leica has just come out with a less expensive, by Leica standards, X1 that is really what I want. Anyway, I settled for now on the Samsung with a Schneider lens and I am pleased with it. It takes me back to where photography is not quiet so serious and a lot more fun. Of course, the only time I have used it for what I bought it for, the $2 Portrait, I totally blew the shot, which accounts for the practice sessions.
ReplyDeleteJan, I meant to mention, the notification problem is not only with the Discussions blog. I don't get many comments on this blog so I had not noticed it, but I did not get a notification of your post to this thread. It is something at Blogspot. I hope they get it corrected before lone.

ReplyDeleteGary, I just now found these posts. I am not good at going to websites for updates, as I really depend on e-mail notifications of posts to any blog. Sorry to say I still do not think I'm getting any new post notifications on the discussion site. However, I do SOMETIMES get notifications of replies to original posts. On the other hand, I seem to be getting original posts from this site but no reply posts. Go figure.
