St John Lutheran, Prairie Hill, Texas

We arrived at St John Lutheran just as the sun set. Alcy got some good photos--I keep telling her she is not supposed to out do me but she doesn't listen. We did get a chance to meet Rev. Hansen who told us that if we will let him know he will turn the lights on in the sanctuary.

The lights were on a timer and they did not come on right at sunset so we drove on to Sandy Hill and came back later to St Johns. The cross at the top of the steeple is normally outlined with neon but it is not currently working.

I promised Rev Hansen that I would give him a call if we decided to do the photoshoot. It might be possible to get him to turn the lights on shortly before sunset. The first shot below is just shortly after the sun went down and it would have been much better with some lighting on the front of the building. We might also want to consider taking battery powered monolights.
