A Trip: Ranger, Texas

There is probably much more to Ranger than we saw. It was getting late, time to start looking for a motel. Since Paul was depending entirely on his GPS I left all my maps and tour guides in my computer case. We were in a section of Texas that I am not familiar with so when he started naming off towns he came to one that I had heard of before, Ranger. I figured if I had heard of it that it would probably be large enough to support a few motels. It isn't. We stopped at a convenience store for a recommendation and was told that our best bet would be a few miles down the road at Eastland.

Across the street from the convenience store was this old delapidated tourist courts which I had to photograph. The highways were lined with these back when I was young--long before the word motel was even coined.
