My previous post, putting the SOOC along side the processed photograph brings to mind something that someone said--I think it was Minor White although I would not swear to that, and this is paraphrased.
The documentary photographer says, "If you had stood where I stood you would have seen what is in this photograph.".
The poetic photographer says, "If you had stood where I stood neither of us would have seen what is in this photograph."
The documentary photograph is a bridge to an experience. The poetic photograph is an experience.
