2200 Block of Congress

Since we were in the vicinity I kept another promise to shoot in the 2200 block of Congress at the intersection with Dowling. Yes I know I hang out in not the best areas of Houston, but it is where I enjoy photographing. Had I been by myself I would have stopped in to say hello to Miss Vicki at the H-Town Convenience Store, another place I enjoy photographing. It’s across the street from Sparkle’s Hamburger Stand. If Burger King ever encountered a burger from Sparkles they would never again suggest that it took two hands to handle a whopper. The patty itself is over an inch thick. The first one I ordered I thought I could drive and eat it—I couldn’t hold it. I had to park and then I had hamburger all over me before I finished. That's okay, there was much more than I really needed. You have to call ahead for a burger because it is a thirty minute or longer wait if you place the order at the window—and that’s on Sunday. It’s an interesting part of Houston. We barely skimed the surface on Congress.
