Drove down to the Varner-Hogg Plantation in West Columbia to photograph the Christmas decorations. It was very disappointing. We enjoyed the tour of the house but it was decorated as a Victorian Christmas which meant that there really wasn't a great deal of decorations. That's okay it was an enjoyable trip. We had planned to eat at the barbecue place where Debi and I ate last Easter but it has gone out of business.
We drove on down to Surfside and the only pictures that I took was there. I probably hadn't been to Surfside in thirty years or more--it has changed a little. You can no longer drive on the beach and the old light house is gone. I always enjoy finding debris on the beach to photograph and when it is warmer than it was today, in the water. Met a couple of guys from Vernon, about fifty miles west of Burkburnett, that had come down to deliver an automobile and decided to drive down to the beach. They said when they left it was 20 degrees. After that it didn't seem so cold after all. As much as I love North Texas, I do not like the cold weather.
