A Trip: San Saba, Texas

This is only the second time I have visited San Saba. In 1880, my maternal grandfather and his half sister were enumerated on the US Census in San Saba County, Texas. I visited the San Saba County Courthouse once some years ago for the purpose of genealogy research. Of all the courthouses I worked in over a period of ten years I do believe that San Saba was by far the most unfriendly. It wasn’t a particularly good experience. Passing through with a very brief layover was much more pleasant.
