I just came home two days early from what was supposed to be a mini vacation--too much togetherness for a recluse.

My favorite quote on solitude is, of course, from Self Reliance: "What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude."GW-Imageshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02591096532137946728noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-91977897960029629.post-59938868820130279582011-09-24T19:36:29.407-05:002011-09-24T19:36:29.407-05:00I'm with Roland. I like the scene for this space and quietness, the room, the possibilities and opportunities that arise thanks to the quietness.

Quiet scenes are quite rare these days. Everyone seems to chase, run, hunt for louder and more extreme shots. Not so this one and I like it a lot for that alone.

cheers
®Rolandhttp://blog.punctumsaliens.chnoreply@blogger.com
